Koichi Wajima

Koichi Wajima was a Japanese professional boxer in the Junior Middleweight division. He is the former Undisputed Junior Middleweight Champion of the World, having both WBC and WBA titles.

Wajima was born in Karafuto, which became Soviet territory when Wajima was three years old. He and his family moved to Shibetsu, Hokkaid, but barely managed to scrape out a living there. Wajima was put up for adoption, and lived with his stepfamily while his parents worked in Shibetsu.
